Costa Rica and its biodiversity.

Costa Rica has about 6.5% of the world's biodiversity, according to the Sixth National Report on the State of Biodiversity (6IN, 2019).

Habitat of more than 120 thousand known species for the country, among them more than 900 species of birds, more than 600 amphibians, more than 200 reptiles, more than 1500 butterflies.

-Duellmanohyla rufioculis.

The Rufous-eyed stream frog it´s an endemic frog from Costa Rica






The name of this genus is formed from the surname Duellman, after William Edward Duellman, and the Latin word hyla, tree frog.


The specific epithet derives from the Greek word rufus meaning red and oculis meaning red, in reference to the red iris of this species.
